Factory & Manufacturing
Inside our manufacturing campus: six automated production lines, in-house R&D and quality control from raw material to shipping.
One Campus, Six Lines, Every Element We Make

SunAura Thermal operates from a dedicated manufacturing campus in the Huangdao District of Qingdao, China — Building 2, No. 407, Huaihe West Road. This is where our engineers develop new products, where six automated production lines print and laminate heating elements, and where every batch is tested before it ships to customers in more than 50 countries.
Founded in 2008, SunAura has completed more than seventeen years as an integrated manufacturer of electric heating elements — no trading company between you and the production floor. The engineering team that prints our graphene heating film also designs the mats, cables, thermostats and pet heating pads sold under the SunAura name.
What Buyers Notice When They Audit Us
Buyers who audit us quickly notice the same three things: the lines run automation rather than hand labour, the quality gates are instrumented rather than observational, and the engineering team that prints the film is the same team that answers your WhatsApp.
Six Automated Lines
Screen-printing, lamination, encapsulation and termination run on dedicated lines so batch-to-batch variability is removed, not managed.
Three-Gate QC
Incoming inspection, in-process control and outgoing inspection, plus a signed batch QC PASS record that travels with the shipment.
In-House R&D
Graphene–carbon ratios, PTC self-limiting behaviour and shielded constructions are formulated on this campus, not bought in.
50+ Countries Shipped
Seventeen years of export experience means the paperwork, voltage builds and packaging standards of your destination are already familiar to us.
Six Automated Production Lines
Automation is the backbone of our quality promise. Each of the six lines is purpose-built for one element family, which is why switching a product between lines never happens.

A buyer auditing the floor sees the same functional blocks repeated on each element line: precision unwinding, closed-loop print-density monitoring, lamination under controlled pressure and temperature, die-cutting to ordered widths, termination with strain relief, electrical test benches, and an aging-test room where batch samples run continuously while temperature and current are logged.
Graphene Film Line
Screen-printed graphene–carbon composite on PET, laminated busbars, encapsulation and termination in one continuous pass.
Heating Mat Line
Pre-assembles film into self-adhesive tile-ready mats on reinforced mesh, with cold leads strain-relieved and every mat electrically tested.
Heating Cable Line
Draws and lays alloy resistance conductor, builds double-conductor shielded cables to ordered lengths, and tests every loop.
Aluminium & Special Line
Bonds heating layers to aluminium spreader foils and builds customer-specific sandwich constructions for retrofit and OEM programmes.
Thermostat Assembly Bench
Separate controlled line for PCB inspection, housing assembly, pairing checks, sensor calibration and function-bench testing.
Pet & Plant Pad Bench
Dedicated finishing bench for low-EMF shielded pet pads and propagation mats, individually re-tested after assembly for 24/7 use.
Watch Our Production Lines in Action
Raw footage from inside our Huangdao workshop — no renderings, no stock clips. What you see here is what ships in your containers.
The Three-Inspection System
Our QC system is organised around three gates that every lot must pass, plus batch-level sign-off. Every material and every unit passes the same quality gates in the same order.
Incoming Inspection
PET film, carbon paste and copper are verified against material certificates and sampled before entering the warehouse. Failures never reach the line.
In-Process Control
Coating density, print pattern, busbar registration and termination quality are monitored continuously, with spot measurements logged hourly.
Outgoing Inspection
100% resistance and continuity testing, sampled dielectric strength, visual and dimensional checks, packaging verified against the purchase order.
Batch QC PASS
Each batch carries a dated, signed record of tests run and samples taken — the same paperwork our QC manager keeps, issued with the shipment.
- Incoming inspection — PET film, carbon paste and copper verified against material certificates.
- In-process checks — coating density and print pattern monitored continuously on the line.
- Electrical testing — every element resistance-tested; dielectric strength and insulation sampled per batch.
- Final inspection — visual, dimensional and packaging checks against the order specification.
- Documentation — batch traceability with test records, certificates and shipping documents.
Independent Evidence Behind Our Claims
Internal control is necessary but not sufficient for a product sold into regulated markets, so our safety claims rest on independent laboratory evidence. Documents are re-tested as formulations and line equipment evolve, and copies are issued for tender files and customs.
ISO 9001 / 14001
Management system certification for quality and environment.
SGS RoHS Reports
Restricted-material compliance testing by an independent laboratory.
ZCT EMC / IEC 60335
Safety and electromagnetic compatibility testing underpinning our low-EMF shielded construction.
CNAS Inspection
Accredited inspection reports supporting our factory quality system.
Formulation, Prototyping and Line Tuning Under One Roof
Our engineering team develops formulations and constructions in-house — from the graphene–carbon composite ratio that determines heat output, to PTC self-limiting technology for safety-critical applications. This is why we can respond to OEM projects with real engineering input rather than a standard catalog answer.
The paste itself is prepared in our own mixing area to a recipe held by the engineering team; batch tickets record which raw carbons went into that day’s mix, so a lot can always be traced back to its raw-material certificates.
- Graphene–carbon ratios — heat output tuned per square metre, not bought as a fixed film.
- PTC self-limiting variants — over-temperature protection built into the element itself.
- Shielded constructions — low-EMF design across film, mats, cables and pet pads.
- OEM formulations — different film, adhesive system or lead exit without re-tooling the main line.

Station-by-Station Details
For buyers and engineers who want the construction details, each line is explained below — from raw PET film to a sealed carton on a shipping container.
Graphene Film Line — Station by Station
Unwind. Wide rolls of high-grade PET film are loaded onto precision shafts so the substrate feeds forward without wrinkles, slack or edge wander — a crease at the start of the roll would become a weak point under a heated floor for decades.
Screen printing. The graphene–carbon composite paste — prepared in our own mixing area to a recipe held by the engineering team — is applied in a fixed mesh pattern, with batch tickets tracing every raw carbon back to its certificate.
Drying and cure. The printed layer sets under controlled temperature so the carbon network bonds evenly and the resistance reads true.
Busbar lamination. Silver–aluminium composite busbars are bonded along both edges so current enters the resistive layer across its full width — the engineering reason the film heats uniformly edge to edge instead of burning hot near the leads.
Encapsulation. The active layer is sandwiched between protective films and edge-sealed so moisture cannot reach the printed circuit.
Die-cutting and slitting. Film is cut to the ordered width.
Termination. Power leads are fixed to the busbars with mechanical and electrical joints, strain relief moulded on, and the joint isolated.
Electrical bench. Every element is resistance-measured against its design value; sampled lots receive dielectric strength and insulation tests before the aging room and final packing.

For buyers this matters in two practical ways: replacement rolls ordered in year three perform the same as rolls received in year one, and because we control formulation and print, we can tune the film for your application — standard underfloor wattages, higher-density industrial builds, or PTC self-limiting variants. Browse the finished range on the graphene heating film product page.
Heating Mats — From Film to Tile-Ready Mat
The mat line laminates the film onto a reinforced backing mesh, applies the self-adhesive underside, trims the edges and fixes cold leads with strain relief. Every finished mat undergoes the same resistance test and dielectric check as the film rolls before it is boxed.
Because the mat arrives pre-sized rather than as a roll to cut on site, installation time on a renovation project drops sharply. The line also produces thinner retrofit constructions for constrained build heights, including the aluminium-clad variants used under stone and tile.

All mat constructions are listed in the underfloor heating category, with wattage and backing options explained per product.
Heating Cable Line & Double-Conductor Construction
Where film cannot go — inside screed, concrete pours, gutters and pipe runs — we manufacture heating cables. The line draws and lays the alloy resistance conductor, wraps it in insulation, adds the metallic shield and outer jacket, and forms the double-conductor arrangement that keeps electromagnetic emissions low and the heater field-safe for buried installation.
The line then cuts cables to ordered lengths, bonds cold leads, and tests each finished cable loop for resistance, continuity and insulation before packing.

Cable orders are common for renovation screeds, outdoor freeze-protection and custom-length projects. Every double-conductor heating cable ships with connection guidance matched to a control from the thermostats and controls category. Construction details are on the technology page.
Aluminium Film & Special Constructions
A dedicated short line handles the aluminium film heating mat and similar special constructions, where the heating layer is bonded to an aluminium spreader layer to flatten residual temperature gradients and protect the element mechanically. These products are the retrofit answer for old buildings where floor height cannot change, and for stone surfaces that benefit from the extra protection of the metal layer.
The same line produces customer-specific sandwich constructions for OEM programmes — a different protective film, a different adhesive system, a different lead exit — without re-tooling the main film line. See the range on the aluminium film heating mat page.
Smart Thermostat Assembly & Test
We assemble and test smart thermostats on a controlled line separate from the high-voltage element lines, because controls demand EMC discipline and firmware discipline rather than printing. The thermostat area covers PCB inspection, housing assembly, button and touch-panel testing, WiFi and app pairing checks, sensor calibration against reference probes, and final packaging.
Every unit that leaves this area has passed a function bench test: relay switching, floor-sensor reading, air-sensor reading and display behaviour are verified before the box is sealed. This is why we can support distributors with spare units, firmware questions and wiring advice — the people answering your support call assembled the product.

The current certified range — WiFi and app-controlled models with floor and air sensors — is listed on the smart thermostat product page.
Pet & Reptile Heating Pad Line
Pet heating pads are built on the film line’s precision but finished on a dedicated assembly bench that focuses on the product’s specific safety profile: uniform bottom heat, enclosed use inside terrariums and pet beds, and 24/7 near-animal operation.
Pads use the low-EMF shielded construction, 10-speed temperature control units and strain-relieved leads, and are individually tested again after assembly because a pet pad operates in a sealed, insulated environment where over-temperature risk must be designed out rather than managed.

The finished pads are listed in the pet and plant heating category alongside plant propagation mats, which share the same low-wattage, even-heating philosophy.
Aging Tests, Burn-In & Reliability Evidence
Online inspection cameras and probe stations sit between stations rather than after them, so a drift in print density is corrected on the hour, not discovered at final inspection. An aging-test room runs samples from every batch continuously for an extended soak while temperature and current are logged.
We do not publish equipment brand names — what matters for your audit is that every station affecting safety-critical parameters (resistance, insulation, termination) is instrumented and records its measurements into the batch folder.
Materials We Buy In — and Why Incoming Certificates Matter
An electric heating element is only as good as its raw materials, so the incoming inspection gate is where our quality system starts. PET film is checked for thickness, dimensional stability and dielectric requirements; carbon paste is batch-tested for viscosity, resistivity and adhesion; copper and aluminium busbar stock is measured for purity and dimensions; connectors, cold leads and thermostat components arrive with their own certificates and are sampled on arrival rather than trusted on paper.
Buyers often ask whether material substitutions happen under price pressure. The answer is no: substituting a cheaper substrate or busbar alloy would change the resistance curve, the aging behaviour and the EMC profile of the finished element, and our batch records would show the drift on the electrical bench within the first hour of production — which is exactly why auditors trust the bench data as much as the certificates.

Quick Answers for Buyers and Distributors
Can I visit the SunAura factory in Qingdao before placing a wholesale order?
Yes. Buyers, distributors and auditors are welcome at our Huangdao District campus, and we also run live video factory tours when travel is not practical. Tell us your agenda in advance and we will have samples, certificates and a live batch record ready for you.
What is the MOQ for private-label heating film or mats?
Sample rolls and cut pieces start small for evaluation; the production MOQ for private-label orders depends on the product and packaging artwork, and is confirmed in writing on your quotation. Repeat distributors benefit from rolling-stock arrangements that shorten reorder lead times.
Which documents do you provide for customs and tender applications?
Every shipment carries a commercial invoice and packing list, plus the relevant certification set: ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 documents, SGS RoHS reports, ZCT EMC / IEC 60335 reports and CNAS inspection reports. See the full document request list.
Do you support OEM customization beyond standard sizes?
Yes. Because we print and laminate on our own lines, we customise widths, cut lengths, wattage builds, voltage, private-label packaging and PTC self-limiting variants in-house. Our engineers stay on the call from sample to mass production rather than passing you to a middleman.
How long does a typical wholesale order take from confirmation to shipping?
Standard reorders from rolling stock ship fastest; custom cut-to-length and OEM orders are scheduled after confirmation with a stated completion date on the proforma invoice. Sea, air and express options are quoted so you can match speed to your project schedule.
Can you supply installation kits and accessories alongside the heating elements?
Yes. The same order can include insulation underlay, mounting tape, sensors, connection kits and complete installation kits from the accessories category, which keeps your bill of materials on one commercial invoice.
Welcome to the Huangdao Campus

Distributors, project owners and third-party auditors are welcome at the Huangdao campus. A typical half-day visit covers the film and mat lines, the cable termination bench, the thermostat test area, the aging room and the document room where batch records and certificates are kept.
We prepare samples and the relevant certificate files in advance, and we can walk through a live batch record so auditors see QC PASS sign-offs, not just a quality manual. If you cannot travel, we run video factory tours on request — the same walkthrough, filmed live to your agenda.
