Buying Guide

How do I choose between heating film, heating mat and heating cable?

The choice follows the floor build. Heating film suits dry installations under laminate and engineered wood; heating mat suits tile and stone on screed; heating cable is the flexible option for irregular layouts and large custom areas. If you are not sure, send us your room drawing and floor construction, and our engineers will recommend the right product with a layout plan.

How do I calculate the heating area and wattage?

Measure the net floor area: the total area minus fixed cabinets, appliances and fixtures. The required wattage depends on the room, the floor build-up and your climate, and is stated in the quotation. As a guide, residential living areas commonly run around 150 W/m²; bathrooms and entryways may differ. We prepare a load summary with every quotation so you can verify the sizing.

What voltage options do you offer?

We produce 120 V and 240 V versions for heating film, mat and cable, plus the matching thermostat. Voltage is matched at production to your market, so you receive a system that works with your local supply without extra converters.

Can electric underfloor heating work with a heat pump?

Yes. Electric radiant zones and heat pumps are complementary: the heat pump covers the base load while electric zones handle specific rooms, bathrooms or cold periods. Low-temperature compatibility matters on the control side, and our film, mat and cable are specified together with thermostats that suit this setup.

Is SunAura suitable for OEM or private-label projects?

Yes. We run OEM/ODM programs for heating film, mat, cable and thermostats: your brand, your packaging, your voltage and dimensions, with per-unit test records and compliance documentation. OEM capacity is scheduled in advance, so start the conversation early.

Custom Solutions

What does the OEM process look like?

It starts with a specification conversation: product family, voltage, size, branding, packaging and documentation. We produce samples for approval, then plan production around the agreed calendar. Batch inspection against the approved specification happens before packaging, and per-unit test records accompany the shipment.

Can you produce custom sizes or voltages?

Yes. Film, mat and cable can be produced to your required dimensions and voltage within our production capability. Custom specifications are agreed at quotation so there is no ambiguity at production.

What branding and packaging can you provide?

Private-label branding, display branding on thermostats, custom packaging, manuals and documentation in your language and brand. The whole range can carry one brand: element, sensor, thermostat and manual.

What documentation do OEM buyers receive?

Per-unit test records, material and compliance documentation (CE, RoHS, LVD, EMC as applicable), and the ISO management system context (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) as reference. Where a destination market requires an external test, that step is planned before production.

Shipping & Import

Which countries do you ship to?

We export to more than 50 countries, with North America and Europe as leading regions for our mat and film lines. Our export team prepares the documentation set for your destination and works with freight forwarders on sea, air and express options.

What are the typical lead times?

Standard sizes typically complete production within a few weeks of order confirmation, then ship by the agreed method. The lead time is stated in the quotation; OEM and custom orders are scheduled in advance.

Do you support FOB, EXW or CIF terms?

Yes. We quote on the Incoterm that suits your operation; FOB and EXW are the most common for our export orders, and our team coordinates the documentation for customs clearance.

What shipping documents do you provide?

Commercial invoice, packing list and the documentation set required for your destination, plus per-unit test records for heating elements. Specific certificates required by your market are planned before production.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

The MOQ depends on the product line and whether the order is standard or custom. For standard sizes we keep the MOQ low and state it clearly in the quotation, so you can validate samples before scaling.

Installation & Training

Do you provide layout plans for installation?

Yes. For mat and cable orders we provide layout guidance and, where needed, zone plans so the element spacing, sensor placement and connection points are clear before installation. Our engineers review room drawings before quotation.

Can heating mat be installed under tile?

Yes. Mat is designed for tile and stone: it is embedded in thin-set adhesive over the subfloor, then tiled on top. A floor sensor is installed in a conduit between the loops to protect the element.

How is heating film installed under laminate?

Film is installed dry: insulation board, film panels, then the floating laminate floor. The cold leads connect to the thermostat circuit. The sequence avoids wet trades and can be installed quickly.

Do you provide installation training?

Yes. For distributors and contractors we provide installation documentation, guidance on layout and wiring, and direct engineering support by email and WhatsApp. Training is included with larger orders.

What tools are needed for installation?

Typical tools include a continuity tester or multimeter for the resistance check, the thermostat’s connection kit, and standard floor-laying tools. Each order includes the element’s installation sheet; the thermostat manual covers wiring.

How is the thermostat installed?

The thermostat mounts at switch height and connects to the element cold leads, the floor sensor and the supply circuit. The floor sensor is placed in a conduit between element loops, per the layout plan. Each thermostat model ships with its wiring manual.

Warranty & Service

What warranty do you provide?

Our heating elements carry a warranty covering manufacturing defects, with the period stated in the product documentation. Warranty terms are confirmed in writing with each order.

How do I claim warranty service?

Contact our after-sales team at [email protected] with your order number, product model and a description of the issue, plus test readings if available. We review the case and respond with the resolution path.

Do you supply spare parts?

Yes. Thermostats, sensors, cold leads and connection kits are available as spares, so local contractors can complete repairs without waiting for a full unit.

What does the warranty not cover?

Warranty covers manufacturing defects; it does not cover damage from incorrect installation, misuse, external factors or modifications outside the specification. This is why we emphasize the resistance check and layout plan before energizing.

Is after-sales support available in my time zone?

Our after-sales desk operates Mon-Sat 9:00-18:00 (GMT+8) and replies by email and WhatsApp. Urgent cases are escalated to engineering directly.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Why is my floor not heating?

Check in order: is the thermostat powered and set above the current floor temperature? Is the circuit breaker on? Then test the element resistance at the thermostat terminals against the value on the product label. If the reading is open or far off, contact after-sales with the readings.

How do I test the element with a multimeter?

Isolate the circuit, disconnect the element leads at the thermostat, and measure resistance across the element. Compare with the rated value printed on the label. A stable reading near the rated value is normal; an open circuit indicates a damaged element.

My thermostat shows an error or no sensor reading.

An error related to the sensor usually means the floor sensor is not connected, has a wiring fault, or is damaged. Check the sensor connection at the thermostat terminals. Sensor and thermostat are replaceable spares.

Why is one room colder than another?

Check the zone settings: each zone thermostat controls its own schedule. A colder room may have higher heat loss, a lower set point, or a layout issue such as furniture covering the heated area. The load summary shows the designed wattage per room.

How should I clean and maintain the system?

The elements are sealed and need no routine maintenance. Keep thermostat vents clear, and protect the floor surface according to the flooring manufacturer’s care guide. We recommend recording resistance readings at commissioning for future reference.

Can I extend an existing heating zone?

Only if the existing circuit and thermostat have spare capacity and the element type matches. We recommend a fresh layout calculation before extending; our engineers can review the existing zone and the proposed addition.

Payment & Ordering

How do I place an order?

Send your product interest, quantity, voltage and destination to [email protected] or via WhatsApp. We confirm specification, price and lead time in a written quotation, then proceed to samples or production.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer (T/T) is the standard method for export orders; other methods can be discussed. Terms are confirmed at quotation, and production starts after the agreed payment schedule.

Can I order samples first?

Yes. Samples are available before production so you can verify quality, dimensions and branding. Sample cost and shipping are confirmed at request.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Room or project details (area, floor type, voltage), the product family you are considering, and quantity or target price. With those, we can prepare a specification and a load summary.

What are typical production lead times for repeat orders?

Repeat orders of standard products follow the standard production schedule stated in the quotation, typically a few weeks. Scheduled orders in advance keep the supply chain predictable.
