Silicone Rubber Heating Cable – 50 W/m

Model: SA-SILICONE-HEATING-CABLE-50W CE & RoHS Factory since 2008 OEM / ODM Welcome

High-output 50 W/m silicone rubber heating cable, 36–240 V configurable, flexible to −60 °C — factory-direct constant wattage trace wire for pipes, tanks and equipment.

Overview

The Silicone Rubber Heating Cable – 50 W/m is a high-output, parallel-constructed constant wattage heating wire wrapped in flexible silicone rubber. At 50 W per metre it is the strongest output in our silicone family, designed for short, demanding runs: cold pipes needing fast heat-up, frost-prone equipment housings, and surfaces where heat must arrive quickly after switch-on. The silicone jacket survives −60 °C to +200 °C environments and is resistant to moisture, so the same wire works indoors, outdoors and in damp plant rooms.

Rated voltage is fully configurable between 36 V and 240 V, which makes this cable equally at home on mains-powered industrial trace heating and on low-voltage equipment circuits. It is part of our silicone heating cable range, built in-house and sold factory-direct to OEM brands, equipment makers and trace-heating contractors.

Key Features

  • 50 W/m high output — the strongest silicone trace output we build, for short runs, thick-walled pipe and fast frost protection.
  • Wide voltage window — 36 V to 240 V AC specified at order, from low-voltage equipment builds to mains industrial circuits.
  • Silicone everywhere — inner insulation and outer jacket both in silicone rubber, flexible from −60 °C and stable to +200 °C.
  • Alloy resistance core — copper-nickel alloy heating wire for even temperature distribution and long element life.
  • Factory-tested every piece — each belt passes DC resistance, water-immersion high-voltage and insulation resistance tests before it leaves the line.
  • No joint cold tail — an integrated cold-tail section means a joint-free body that bends easily around pipework and fittings.

Available Options & Variants

The 50 W/m build suits shorter, harder jobs. Where runs are longer or insulation is generous, step down to the 25 W/m silicone rubber heating cable, which allows up to 65 m per circuit; for drain-line antifreeze in the 40 W/m class, see the 40 W/m antifreeze silicone heating cable. Heating length, cold-tail lead length, rated voltage and output are all decided by the customer at order — that configurability is the point of a made-to-spec constant wattage heating cable.

Applications

  • Pipeline antifreeze and heat maintenance — freeze protection and process-temperature holding on water, oil and chemical lines where silicone’s moisture resistance matters.
  • Meter and valve heating — keeps utility meters, valves and pump housings operational in cold weather.
  • Equipment and tank trace heating — prevents material solidification in small vessels, filters and instrument housings.
  • High-temperature environments — oven-adjacent piping and surfaces where PVC-jacketed wire would age quickly.
  • Low-voltage builds — 12 V/24 V-derivative circuits on mobile equipment, solar-powered systems and battery-powered installations.

Constant Wattage vs Self-Regulating — Which Do You Need?

This cable is a constant wattage heating cable: the alloy resistance wire puts out a fixed watts-per-metre regardless of temperature, and the parallel 0.5 m node spacing means each section between nodes behaves as its own small element. Constant-wattage wire is ordered to length — do not cut it on site, because the cut changes the circuit. Where you want output that trims itself as the surface warms, overlap-safe PTC construction, and on-site cut-to-length flexibility, move up to our self-regulating heating cable range. As a rule of thumb: fixed spec and known run = constant wattage; variable climate, awkward overlaps or unmeasured run = PTC.

Installation Guide

  1. Calculate the total heating length from your drawings — this cable must be ordered to length and must not be shortened on site.
  2. Clean and dry the pipe or surface, then fix the cable straight along the trace position with silicone-safe fixing tape; keep the 5 × 7 mm body flat against the surface.
  3. Spiral around flanges and valves, which lose heat fastest, and leave the integrated cold tail slack for a dry junction box.
  4. Insulate the traced run fully; silicone jacket handles moisture, but uninsulated trace heating wastes most of its output to air.
  5. Wire the cold tail through an earth-leakage-protected circuit via a contact or immersion thermostat sized to the total circuit wattage.
  6. Measure resistance against the factory test record before first switch-on.

Safety & Certifications

The cable is CE-marked and RoHS-compliant, manufactured under ISO 9001 quality control, and every finished belt undergoes DC resistance, water-immersion high-voltage (AC 3500 V) and insulation-resistance testing. Because it is a fixed-output element, surface temperature is governed by the chosen wattage, the insulation and the external thermostat — never run it unregulated on a fully insulated loop. The silicone jacket is moisture-resistant for outdoor and damp duty; explosive-atmosphere zone ratings must be confirmed with our engineering team before specification.

Factory & Quality Control

SunAura has made electric heating elements in Qingdao since 2008 and supplies equipment OEMs and trace-heating contractors in more than 50 countries. Our silicone line is fully vertical: alloy wire drawing, silicone extrusion, node welding and hipot testing all happen in-house, and batch test records are retained for the product’s life. That is why OEM customers keep coming back — replacements match the original build, and engineering support answers the sizing questions that off-the-shelf listings never cover.

Packaging & Shipping

Finished cables are coiled, taped and packed in export cartons with the test record and declaration of conformity inside. Custom-length builds are produced to schedule after order confirmation; popular wattage/voltage combinations are kept as coil stock. Freight is by sea, air or express courier under EXW or FOB terms, and controllers, junction boxes and insulation tape can be consolidated into one shipment.

OEM/ODM & Private Label

The design flexibility built into this element — heating length, lead length, rated voltage and wattage all customer-defined — is what makes it popular with OEM brands. We offer private-label cartons and manuals, custom plug ends, sleeve colours and element-only supply for integration into heaters, appliances and tank-warming products. Send us the target surface, temperature range and voltage and we will develop the element spec rather than selling you a standard coil.

Wholesale Pricing & How to Buy

Pricing is factory-direct wholesale with volume tiers for distributors, contractors and OEM programmes. MOQ is flexible, and sample coils are available for bench evaluation. Because this is an ordered-to-length constant wattage heating cable, every quote needs the heating length, cold-tail length, voltage and wattage. Send us your project parameters for a same-day quotation, or start from the products hub. A matched smart thermostat or contact thermostat can be bundled with the order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum temperature rating of this silicone heating cable?

The silicone jacket is stable from −60 °C to +200 °C, and the trace temperature on a typical antifreeze or heat-maintenance job is held up to around 150 °C. Specify the target surface temperature at order so we select the right wattage and voltage combination.

Can I cut the 50 W/m cable shorter on site?

No. This is a fixed-output, parallel constant wattage heating cable ordered to length — cutting it changes the resistance and the circuit. For cut-to-length-on-site convenience, look at our self-regulating heating cable range instead.

What voltage options are available?

We build from 36 V up to 240 V AC, chosen at order — standard mains is 220 V, but low-voltage equipment builds are routine. Tell us your supply and we confirm the winding.

Why does the 50 W/m version allow a shorter maximum length?

Higher output per metre draws more current, so a single circuit has to stay within conductor limits: the 50 W/m build tops out at about 44 m per circuit, the 40 W/m build at 50 m and the 25 W/m build at 65 m. Design the loop length before ordering.

Do you supply samples and OEM branding?

Yes — sample coils for evaluation and OEM/ODM programmes with private-label packaging are standard. Contact sales with your voltage and application for current sample terms.
