Underfloor Heating Mat

Model: SA-FLOOR-HEATING-MAT-UNDERFLOOR CE & RoHS Factory since 2008 OEM / ODM Welcome

Standard 160 W/m² electric underfloor heating mat for residential tile, stone and wood floors — thin adhesive-bed build, low-EMF twin conductor.

Overview

The Underfloor Heating Mat is our standard electric radiant mat for residential tile and stone floors: a shielded dual-conductor cable pre-spaced on mesh, unrolled and stuck under tile adhesive in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and hallways. No boiler, no radiators, no ducts — just even warmth from the floor up. It is the everyday product in our underfloor heating systems range, and the mat most installers reach for when a room needs comfort heating without a rebuild.

With its thin profile and fixed factory spacing it keeps floor height almost unchanged, warms up quickly, and pairs with any SunAura room control — from a simple knob WiFi thermostat to a programmable touch model. For wall-to-wall film builds instead of mats, see our graphene heating film.

Key Features

  • Uniform heat, no cold spots — factory-fixed cable spacing guarantees even output across the whole room.
  • Fast heat-up — reaches comfortable tile temperature within about an hour of switch-on.
  • Ultra-thin, floor-height-neutral — embeds in adhesive; ideal for renovations and door-clearance-sensitive rooms.
  • Low-EMF shielded twin conductor — safe, comfortable warmth under family living areas.
  • Works under most finishes — tile, stone; with transfer plate, laminate and engineered wood.
  • Quick to install — mesh backing means unroll, stick, tile; no on-site cable measuring.
  • Economical to run — room-by-room zoning and weekly scheduling heat only occupied space.

Available Sizes

Coverage Mat build Total power Typical room
0.5 m² 0.5 × 1 m 80 W Walk-in wardrobe, entrance mat zone
1.0 m² 0.5 × 2 m 160 W Under-desk zone, hallway patch
2.0 m² 0.5 × 4 m 320 W Kitchen work zone
4.0 m² 0.5 × 8 m 640 W Bathroom / small dining nook
6–20 m² 0.5 × 12–40 m 160 W/m² Living room, bedroom, whole floor

Rule of thumb: cover around 70–80 % of the open floor, leaving 10–15 cm clear around walls and never under fixed cabinets or beds. Multi-mat rooms are wired to separate circuits where load demands; send us your room dimensions and we will confirm the exact mat selection.

Application Scenarios

  • Living rooms — warm tile or wood floors under sofas and play areas.
  • Bedrooms — quiet radiant warmth; no noisy heater disturbing sleep.
  • Kitchens — comfort underfoot at the sink and worktop; also pairs with our bathroom-grade mat for the adjacent wet room.
  • Hallways & entries — removes cold-tile greeting in winter.
  • Renovation & new builds — thin adhesive-bed build fits refurbishment; screed-compatible for new projects.

How It Works

Power flows through the shielded twin-conductor heating cable bonded to the mesh at even spacing; the cable radiates through adhesive and tile into the room. The room thermostat reads the air sensor and the 3 m floor sensor laid between two cable runs, switching the mat on when temperature drops below setpoint and off at the target. Because heat rises from the floor, you feel it at foot level rather than at ceiling level — the same radiant principle as sunlight, at a fraction of forced-air heating’s draught and dust movement.

Installation Guide

1. Fit insulation board on the subfloor where required. 2. Unroll the mesh cable-side up on wet flexible adhesive and press flat; fold the mesh at corners — never cut or twist the cable. 3. Lay the floor sensor in its conduit between two runs, exiting to the thermostat box. 4. Measure resistance before and after tiling. 5. Tile or stone over; low-tog carpet only, and wood finishes need an aluminium spread plate. A qualified electrician completes the mains connection with RCD protection. For whole-floor projects designers sometimes mix this mat with double-conductor heating cable routed in loops around awkward shapes.

Safety & Certifications

Every mat is hi-pot and resistance tested before dispatch; production carries CE and RoHS certification under ISO 9001 quality management. The shielded low-EMF twin conductor reduces electromagnetic fields, the floor sensor prevents overheating under wood and carpet finishes, and each circuit must be RCD-protected. Never install the mat under fixed furniture where heat cannot dissipate, and always commission the system after finishing so floor-temperature limits are confirmed.

Factory & Quality

SunAura Thermal is a Qingdao electric heating manufacturer operating since 2008, exporting mats, cables, film and thermostats to more than 50 countries. This standard underfloor mat comes off the same element-production line as our 160 W/m² electric heating mats, with the same 100 % hi-pot test bench. As factory we provide batch test records, certification files and direct engineering sizing support — no trading layer between you and the production line. Packaging & Shipping

Mats roll into labelled cartons with the cold tail protected, floor sensor and installation leaflet enclosed. Cartons are pallet-optimised for sea freight; express options cover urgent renovation orders. CE/RoHS certificates and test reports ship with the order, and invoices are prepared for the destination voltage. Standard sizes stock fastest; custom lengths are made to order — allow lead time for large floor plans.

OEM / ODM & Private Label

We customise as the element factory: mat lengths and widths, 150 / 160 / 200 W/m² outputs, 110–120 V or 220–240 V builds, cold-tail lengths, private-label boxes and branded install manuals. ODM kit programmes — mat + sensor + thermostat + instructions in one labelled box — ship regularly for heating brands, installers and distributors. Free samples are available for product approval before a bulk order.

Wholesale Pricing & How to Buy

Factory-direct pricing depends on quantity, size and voltage; volume tiers apply to contractors, distributors and installer partnerships. Send the room dimensions and floor finish and our engineers return a mat layout, circuit plan and same-day quotation — including the matched thermostat. FAQ

How much underfloor heating mat do I need for a room?

Plan around 70–80 % of the open floor area: cover walkways in front of sinks, beds and sofas, and leave 10–15 cm around walls. At 160 W/m², a 10 m² living room uses roughly 8 m² of mat. Send us the room dimensions and we will select the exact mat lengths.

Can the mat be laid under laminate or engineered wood?

Yes, with two conditions: use a heat-spreading aluminium plate and keep output to about 150 W/m², with the floor sensor enforcing the manufacturer’s maximum floor temperature (typically 27–28 °C). Under carpet, choose low-tog carpet only.

Does a mat cost more to run than radiators?

Radiant floor heating heats people and surfaces rather than the whole air volume, and room-by-room scheduling means empty spaces stay at setback temperature. Most households find running costs comparable to or lower than panel heaters, especially with a programmable or WiFi thermostat.

Can I install the mat myself?

The mat itself is DIY-friendly — unroll, stick, tile — but the mains wiring, RCD protection and final commissioning must be done by a qualified electrician. We supply illustrated installation guides and remote support for installers.

What warranty does the mat carry?

The sealed twin-conductor element has no on-site splices — the common failure point — and every unit is electrically tested before dispatch. Standard cover is 2 years; extended project warranties are available for contractor and distributor programmes.
